Silhouette Instalift® is a new non-surgical, in-office procedure that uses dissolving thread sutures applied deep to the skin to reduce the appearance of aging skin to the mid-face or jawline area. Our doctors perform the procedure in under 45 minutes, and recovery takes two to four days.
During the Silhouette InstaLift® procedure, threaded needles are passed in opposite directions with barbed cones that grasp, lift, and suspend facial and neck tissues. Tissue is “gathered” over the coned thread as the needle is withdrawn, creating the desired aesthetic. Over a few months, the body heals the area in the new position by laying down collagen and fibrous tissue.
During your consultation, one of our plastic surgeons will take a brief medical history, discuss your expectations and tailor the thread lift treatment approach to meet your needs.
Before starting the procedure, your plastic surgeon will explain where the Silhouette InstaLift™ sutures will be placed using a marking pen.
We will inject a local anesthetic to ensure you don’t feel discomfort during your treatment. We then insert sutures under the skin and reposition the skin to obtain the desired lifting effect. The bi-directional cones of the sutures lift the skin and keep it in an elevated position.
The number of sutures we apply will depend on your skin laxity and cosmetic needs.
Directly after your treatment, you may experience some inflammation from the sutures, including minor pain, swelling and bruising. Although uncomfortable, the inflammation aids in restoring collagen to your skin. You may have temporary plucking of the lifted skin.
Your plastic surgeon will provide post-treatment recommendations and an aftercare program to ensure the best possible result.
You’ll notice that the lifting effect produced by Silhouette InstaLift™ is immediate. However, collagen generation is more gradual. Over time, more and more collagen will grow, restoring the contours of your face and offering long-term results.
The cost of Silhouette InstaLift™ varies according to each patient’s needs and the number of sutures required. We will discuss the price of a thread lift with you during your consultation.
